Now that the deadline has passed and reading season is in full swing for us counselors at Chapman University we wanted to take a quick minute to give a few announcements.
First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has been admitted to Chapman! Hopefully you were as excited reading your decision as we were making it. Now this may seem like the time to sit back and coast but be sure to avoid the ever-tempting 'senioritis' and keep your grades strong through the coming semesters.
For those students who are being reviewed in our regular cycle be sure to send us any updated materials as they become available. We have been emailing students asking them for updated transcripts, test scores, etc. so be on the lookout! If your school has begun releasing your transcripts for your most recent semester be sure to send those our way. Having the most up-to-date information helps us make decisions. Help us help you!
Once again if you have any questions throughout this process please give us a call at (714) 997-6711. Happy studies!

I guess the anticipation has really started to get to me because I applied Early Action for Chapman. I thought I would get some kind of notification by now, now that it's the end of January. How long should I wait? Webadvisor doesn't seem to change. It still reads "Decision Pending".
If my status says, "Fall term grades requested", how long should I expect until a decision is made?
Thanks!
If Fall Term grades were requested for an early action applicant, will that student be notified of their status with the regular admission applicants?
Sorry for my belated response. Reading season has been especially busy this year with the increase in applications and I seem to have forgotten to check the blog on a regular basis. But rest assured I will be far more diligent in the future to check these comments. Now, for the questions:
To the post dated 1/24:
Since you applied early action, it might be to your benefit to contact the Admissions Dept. at 714-997-6711 and see the status of your file. It could be that we are awaiting new documents or updated transcripts.
To the post dated 1/25:
If you applied Early Action then we will evaluate your file once we get those transcripts in and then send you out a decision as soon as we can. If you applied Regular Decision, your decision will come out in mid to late March.
To the post dated 2/8:
It depends. If the letter says we rolled the student into regular decision then yes, we will release that student's decision with the rest of the regular pool. If the letter only request fall transcripts than that student is technically still in the early pool and their decision will be released once we receive fall grades and evaluate their file.
So once again I apologize for my belated response and I hope I have answers your questions. Keep them coming! Have a great Spring everybody!
A question about "fall term grades requested" :
My fall term grades were processed on Feburary 6th. Can you give me a rough idea of how long it will take from that time?
To the Post dated February 16, 2012 1:11 PM:
If you are asking when your decision will be released, we will be hopefully releasing decisions around mid to late March.
If you are asking how long it will take to process the fall grades, it could take upwards of two weeks as we have to receive, scan, process, and link the file electronically. If you are still missing documents after two weeks call our office and we can try to figure out the cause.
