Early Action Decisions

Happy new year from the Admissions Office at Chapman University! We have begun releasing our Early Action decisions. Cue the video:

Please note that certain majors will take a bit longer for us to get a decision out to you (most notably any talent based majors). Should you have any questions please call us at 714-997-6711. Happy applying!

I have been trying to logon to my WebAdvisor page but it keeps on telling me wrong username or password. I submitted my application a few days back and i have not received any new password or username. Is it the "My Panther Page" login information i should use for the WebAdvisor ?

My daughter's admission status says, "fall term grades requested". She doesn't get her grades for another couple of weeks. Does this mean she will be considered with regular admission students? Will she get a letter explaining every thing? Also, I thought I read somewhere that tomorrow is the deadline for submitting fall grades. I would imagine that is not true, but we are just making sure she doesn't have to do anything right now.

Hi Chappenings,
I applied early action to the Art Dept. and I understand that it will probably take a little longer than many other majors....just wondering about how much longer. The anxiety has begun to set in.

Hi Chappenings,
As an anxious art major I am wondering how much longer "a bit" is going to be. A week? Two weeks? As of right now my web advisor still says that a decision is pending but the department made a decision shortly after I submitted all of my materials mid November. Is this normal?
Thanks!

Sorry for the belated response to the blog comments! We've been knee deep in files and I have unfortunately overlooked the blog for a few weeks now. But I'm back and here to answer questions:

In response to Ololade: To get your login for webadvisor you can call our help desk at 714-997-6600.

To the post dated 1/12/12 at 12:14 PM: Different school will submit their fall grades at different times so there is no 'deadline' persay. We will evaluate your daughter's file when we receive her transcripts.

To the post dated 1/12/12 at 11 pm: The 'talent' based majors will take a bit longer because they have go through another set of eyes before we can make an admission decision. Unfortunately, there isn't a set time I can quote you. Whenever art has made their decision we will be able to evaluate the file and then push it through. I know it's nerve racking but patience is a virtue! :)

To the post dated 1/13/12:
Refer to the previous answer for the first question you ask. To answer your second question, yes, this scenario is not unusual. It could be that we simply have not read your file or released the decision yet.

Once again I am sorry for my absence but I promise I will be more diligent in checking the blog during reading season. Have a great Spring term everybody!

I'm applying as a transfer student and was curious when to expect a decision. Do freshman applicants take precedence or are the files read and reviewed based on the date the file was completed. I’m just curious because I am getting anxious thanks!

To Melissa:

Most of our counselors are busy reading the huge influx of Freshman applicants but we do have a specific counselor assigned for transfers. You should hear back mid to late March, possibly into April.
