We are happy to announce that the first batch of early action decisions have gone out! This year, we decided to kick off this occasion by delivering the first early action packet in person.
Remember, we start notifying early action applicants January 15th, but this process won't conclude for a few more weeks, so be patient! Also, if you applied to a talent program it is likely that your decision will not be in this first bundle, but will roll out in weeks to come. For more info on our specific time line, please reference this previous post.
For those of you who have read message boards, etc discussing our WebAdvisor statuses, know that it's going to change a bit this year. For the remainder of the year, when a 'final decision' is reached, the WebAdvisor status bar will read "Decision Mailed." This means that your decision is complete and we will place it in the mail as soon as we can. Remember that your packet needs to be made, your letter printed, the packet sent to our mailing room, then it hits the post office so this process could take a little while. Unfortunately our protocol is to not give admission decisions over the phone so unfortunately we won't be able to disclose that over the phone.
Also, we've had people in the past videotape the opening of their Chapman Acceptance Packet... I guess we can call it a "Chapman Acceptance Un-Boxing." Occasionally when we receive these videos, we post them. Here is an example:
Thanks so much for reading! Best wishes,

What an awesome video. Super glad to see the wording of the webadvisor explained. It was really confusing this week to see different messages!
Should all early decision applicants have received a web advisor username and password by now?
Thanks for posting you two! I am glad you found the links helpful. I hope we are not sending mixed messages, the key is to keep the "panther page" and "WebAdvisor" seperate. Just remember that the "Panther Page" is for prospective students and "WebAdvisor" is for applicants.
I do believe (unless you applied late or something else unique happened) if you applied early you should have your login credentials for WebAdvisor already. These are mailed to you via USPS.
If you don't have it and you think you should, contact Chapman's computer service desk. I am answering this on my phone right now and unfortunately don't have their contact info infront of me but go to chapman.edu and search "computer service desk" and that should do the trick.

what does it mean if my status of application says "roll to regular decision?"
Hi Anonymous,
If your admission is "rolled," that means that the admission committee has decided to wait to make a final decision on your file. There is a letter in the mail that outlines this process further. Your final decision should arrive sometime in early/mid March with the regular deadline group.
Best wishes!
I am confused, I thought all changes in status will say "decision mailed" yet the last post (yesterday) was asking about the "decision rolled" status. So will the status say various decisions or just mailed?
Confused
Hey Anonymous,
Sorry if that was confusing! Let me clarify. FINAL decisions will say "decision mailed." It is possible for status updates to say other things like "roll to regular decision" and so on.
Best,

Should I be worried that my status still says "decision pending" I know many people who already know they have been admitted. So, I am assuming the rejected are the last to hear...
My admission decision has changed to "Fall Term Grades Requested", but I have yet to receive anything in the mail.
I know many colleges, with acceptance letters, still request fall term grades. Does this mean that they have already made my decision, but still want my fall term grades...or that they would like me to send my fall term grades before they make my decision.
I applied early action, and have been sooo anxious!
Anonymous 1,
No, it is possible for your status to still say decision pending. I know it's tempting to try and estimate your decision but the reality is that the rejected are not the last to hear... it just means there are less than 10 counselors, and more than 10,000 files.
Thanks for your patience!
Anonymous 2,
Requesting your fall term grades is not a final decision. This means that the committee would like more information before making a final decision. As for the mail, remember that it first needs to be printed, sent to our mail room, sorted, then sent to the post office... long story short give us a week or two (depending on where you live) to get the letter to you.
Thanks for reading!
