Back to the Future: Relevant Blogs from the Past

Hello everyone!

We wanted to share with you a few blog posts from the past that still contain great advice.
For this time of year, the most important things to remember are as follows:

  • We are working to process, compile, and read your applications as fast as we can. We thank you all for your patience!
  • Our application deadlines have passed, but it is possible to apply late. Late students will be considered on a space available basis and will be considered after the 'on time' folks.
  • Talent programs do typically take longer to turn around a decision than non talent departments because there are more individuals who need to review application materials, and there are more application materials to review.
  • We are all very happy to have received your applications - they look very good this year!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to comment below.

I have a question. I sent in my application on January 15th but I haven't gotten any confirmation in the mail or my webadvisor password. I actually don't think I've gotten any through email either, except that I turned in the supplement through the common app. When I checked my status through the common app it says that I submitted everything though. Should I be concerned or should it be comin gin the mail shortly?

Hi,

Chapman Admissions Office requested my fall semester grades before making a decision, and I faxed my grades to you early last week. How long should I expect to wait for a final decision? I assumed that because my grades were asked to be faxed...that it was intended to speed up the waiting process, instead of sending by mail where the admissions office would have to process the mail.

I also e-mailed the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to let her know that I had faxed over my fall semester transcript.

Anonymous 1,

I think it's worth getting your username and password for WebAdvisor form our computer service desk:

Being complete in The Common Application Online is a good thing, but it's better to be sure your status with each school (including Chapman) is complete in our systems. WebAdvisor will allow you to do that.

Anonymous 2,

Thanks for faxing your grades in! As for the time line from here, it depends on a number of things. Unfortunately there is no way to speed the process up. There are many reasons the admission committee might want to see 7th semester grades. Sometimes it's for an overall GPA, sometimes it's to see how you performed in one specific class. I know it can be stressful to wait, but unfortunately I think that's all there is to do. If you sent your updated transcripts in, then you've done your part.

Best wishes you two and thanks for reading,
